We’re excited to invite you to a special live interview featuring Toward Health’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tro Kalayjian, and renowned nurse practitioner, women’s health expert, and author Cynthia Thurlow, NP. This insightful conversation will center around Cynthia’s highly anticipated new book, The Menopause Gut: Balance Your Microbiome to Reclaim Your Health in Midlife and Beyond, releasing April 28.
This exclusive event offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from two leading voices in metabolic and women’s health. Dr. Tro will sit down with Cynthia for an engaging discussion that goes beyond surface-level menopause advice and dives deep into the science and strategies women need to thrive during midlife and beyond.
Why This Conversation Matters
The conversation around menopause is finally evolving. For too long, women navigating perimenopause and menopause have been underserved by traditional medical guidance, often left without clear answers or effective strategies. Cynthia Thurlow is helping to change that narrative.
In The Menopause Gut, Cynthia introduces a groundbreaking, gut-centric approach to women’s health. Her work highlights a critical, but often overlooked factor: the profound connection between the gut microbiome and hormonal health.
As women approach midlife, the composition of the gut microbiome shifts, with diversity peaking around age 40. Emerging research shows a dynamic, bidirectional relationship between gut health and hormones like estrogen and progesterone. As these hormones fluctuate, women may experience increased inflammation, which can impact everything from metabolism and immune function to mood, cognition, and bone health.
This event will explore these connections in depth, helping participants better understand how to support their bodies through this transition.
What You’ll Learn
During this live interview, Dr. Tro and Cynthia will cover a range of essential topics, including:
- The connection between gut health and menopause symptoms
- How inflammation influences metabolic and cardiovascular health
- Practical strategies to support hormone balance and overall wellness
- The role of nutrition, lifestyle, and targeted interventions in disease prevention
- Insights into cardiac health, with a focus on proactive, preventative care
Cynthia’s approach is both science-backed and highly actionable. She empowers women with tools to:
- Combat bone loss through targeted exercise and nutrition
